Abstract
Tulisan ini, bertujuan untuk melihat pemikiran beliau ketika berinteraksi dengan hadis-hadis Nabi SAW. Khususnya dalam urusan fiqh hadis. Sejauh mana konsistensi juga kekokohan pemikiran beliau dalam bidang hadis, juga pengaruh pemikirannya tersebut di Indonesia. Setelah ditelusuri, ditemukan fakta bahwa pemikiran fiqh hadis beliau cukup moderat. Beliau menggunakan pendekatan tekstual sekaligus kontekstual pada saat bersamaan, dalam tempattempat yang berbeda. Sesuai dengan kebutuhan (kemaslahatan) umat, juga tidak menutup kemungkinan benarnya pendapat lain meski bersebrangan dengan pendapat beliau.
