Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas telaah metodologis kitab tafsir Al-Bahr Al-Muhith karya Abu Hayyan Al-Andalusy. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah bahwa dengan latarbelakang keilmuan Abu Hayyan yang kuat akan kebahasaan khususnya dalam kajian nahwu, i’rob, balaghah, serta qiraat berhasil menjadikan kitab tafsir Al-Bahr Al-Muhith menjadi kitab tafsir terbaik dengan pendekatan bahasa yang banyak dirujuk oleh para mufassir. Dari sisi sumbernya, kitab tafsir ini dikategorikan sebagai tafsir bi al-ra’yi karena dominasi penafsirannya menggunakan kaidah kebahasaan meskipun tetap memuat beberapa sumber dari Alquran dan hadits nabi.
