The global ecological crisis manifested through accelerating climate change, deforestation, biodiversity loss, and widespread pollution poses a serious threat to the sustainability of life on Earth. This ecological degradation cannot be separated from theological dimensions, as environmental destruction reflects a profound moral and spiritual crisis within modern humanity. In Islam, ecotheology emerges as an integrative approach that links the transcendental relationship between God, humans, and nature, asserting that the Earth is a divine trust (amanah) that must be protected. The principles of tawhid, amanah, mizan, and ihsan function as the foundational pillars of Islamic ecotheology and are highly relevant for shaping contemporary environmental ethics. This study employs a qualitative method based on library research, theological–philosophical inquiry, and reflective analysis. The primary aim is to examine ecotheology comprehensively from theoretical and practical perspectives and to explore its contribution to the formation of modern environmental ethics, including within the context of the digital public sphere. The findings indicate that reconstructing Islamic ecotheology is essential not only to cultivate ecological awareness grounded in Islamic spirituality but also to address digital-era dynamics that influence ecological virtue practices through amplification, commodification, and moral polarization. The integration of theology, ethics, and ecology constitutes a strategic framework for realizing sustainable life as a divine mandate for humanity.
