Mosques in urban areas possess various resources that can function as community assets, yet their existence does not automatically generate collective capacity for sustainable community development. This study aims to analyze mosque assets, examine their transformation into social capital, explain the mechanisms by which social capital is mobilized to drive collective action, and formulate an asset-based social capital mobilization model for sustainable urban community development. This study employs a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and community asset mapping involving mosque administrators, religious leaders, worshippers, youth, women, professionals, community organizations, and external stakeholders. Data were analyzed thematically by identifying community assets, forms of social capital, mobilization mechanisms, collective actions, and their contribution to community development. The findings indicate that mosque assets consist of human, social, institutional, physical, economic, and knowledge resources. These assets generate social capital through repeated interaction, participation, trust, solidarity, reciprocity, and social networks. Social capital is subsequently mobilized through facilitative leadership, intermediary actors, coordination, communication, and inclusive participation, thereby transforming social relations into collective action across social cohesion, economic empowerment, education, public services, environmental initiatives, and institutional strengthening. The study contributes to social capital and community development scholarship by emphasizing mobilization as the mechanism that connects community assets and social relations to collective capacity and sustainable urban development.
