Abstract

War Flaming constitutes a perilous conduct on social media platforms. This might result in discomfort when using social media, leading to melancholy, anxiety, excessive worry, and disturbances in mental health. Research data indicates that 71.9% of War Flaming offenders are individuals aged 13 to 22 years (Generation Z). The topic of War Flaming has become a focal point necessitating the enhancement of digital literacy in social media. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology, this study conducted in-depth interviews with selected informants by standard case sampling. The chosen informants include the Directorate of IKP from the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Siberkreasi, Observers of Digital Technology and Culture, and specialist practitioners in social campaigns inside Indonesia. This study's findings advocate for the implementation of digital literacy initiatives to mitigate War Flaming on social media, specifically: 1) Developing innovative social campaigns utilizing language pertinent to Gen Z, 2) Empowering the youth community as proactive advocates against social issues, 3) Fostering collaboration among government entities, community leaders, and journalists in anti-War Flaming educational programs, 4) Leveraging TikTok and Instagram to disseminate positive content, and 5) Partnering with young influencers to promote the significance of digital reputation.
