AUTHOR GUIDELINES
HIJAI: JOURNAL ON ARABIC LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Manuscripts must be original works, have not been previously published in any journal/proceeding, and are not currently under review elsewhere.
- Written in standard Indonesian, English, or Arabic.
- Length: 4,000 to 8,000 words (including abstract, tables, figures, and references).
- Manuscripts must strictly follow the official HIJAI 2026 Article Template (available for download in the sidebar).
2. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
- Title: Concise, clear, and informative (maximum 15 words in Indonesian/Arabic or 13 words in English).
- Abstract: Written in English and Indonesian (or Arabic for Arabic articles), max 200 words in a single paragraph. It must concisely cover: Research Purpose, Method, Main Results, and Conclusion.
- Keywords: 3 to 5 relevant words or phrases.
- Main Body Sections:
* INTRODUCTION (Background, Literature Review/Gaps, Research Problem, and Purpose)
* METHOD (Data sources, collection techniques, and analysis framework)
* RESULTS AND DISCUSSION (Data analysis, findings, critical discussion, and theoretical implications)
* CONCLUSION (Summary of main findings and practical/theoretical contributions)
* REFERENCES
3. CITATION AND REFERENCE STYLE
- Citation Style: APA Style (7th Edition).
- Reference Manager: Authors MUST use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
- Primary Sources: At least 80% of the total references must come from primary sources (reputable peer-reviewed journal articles, preferably published within the last 5–10 years).
- Minimum References: Minimum of 15 to 20 references per manuscript.
- DOI: Include DOIs for all referenced journal articles where available.
4. ANONYMITY & DOUBLE-BLIND REVIEW
To ensure a double-blind peer review process, authors must remove all personal identification (author names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgments) from the main submission file. Author details will be entered separately in the OJS metadata fields during submission.
5. PLAGIARISM POLICY
All submissions will be screened using Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 15% will be rejected or returned to authors for revision prior to peer review.

This license allows anyone to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the primary source, a link to the license is provided, and an indication if changes were made.
3. Author's Rights without Restrictions:
As the copyright holder, authors are permitted to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of their work (e.g., depositing it in an institutional repository, publishing it in a book, or sharing it on a personal website), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in Hijai: Journal on Arabic Language and Literature.

- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
2. Under the following terms:
