Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines:

  1. The paper should have never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. The paper can be a research-based or literary study paper.
  3. The author should register as an author. The guide to register and submit the paper is in the following submission guidelines.
  4. The paper will be published in Al-Tsaqafa :  Jurnal Ilmiah Peradaban Islam after the process of review by peer reviewers.
  5. The paper should be prepared according to the following author guidelines and Template. The writing template can be downloaded here.


SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Articles published in this journal contain major items: title of the article, author's name, author's affiliation, corresponding author, abstract, keywords, introduction, method, finding and discussion, conclusion and references.

Title of the Article
The title is written in capital letters and exceeds 20 words by using Cambria font style. It does not use unusual abbreviations, certain formulas, and symbols.

Name of Author(s)
Name of the author is written below the title of article in the middle. The author's name includes full name without any academic title. If the author has only first name, the last name can be filled with the first name.

Affiliation of Author(s)
Institution/university, city, and nation are described briefly in the article. For corresponding author, name of the author, institution/university, city, nation, and e-mail address should be written.

Abstract
It exceeds 250 words maximum. For research articles, abstracts should give a pertinent overview of the work. We strongly encourage authors to use the following style of structured abstracts, but without headings: (1) Background: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; (2) Purpose of the Study: Identify the purpose and objective of the study; (3) Methods: Describe briefly the main methods or theoretical framework applied; (4) Results: Summarize the article's main findings; and (5) Conclusions: Indicate the main conclusions or interpretations.

Keywords
List three to five pertinent keywords specific are included to the article; yet reasonably common within the subject discipline; use lower case except for names.

Introduction
The introduction should briefly place the study in a broad context and highlight why it is important. It should define the objective of the paper and its significance. The current state of the research field should be reviewed carefully, and key publications cited. Please highlight controversial and diverging hypotheses when necessary. Finally, briefly mention the main aim of the work and highlight the principal conclusions. As far as possible, please keep the introduction comprehensible to scientists outside your particular field of research. References should be cited as (Martin, 2018) or (Marchlewska et al., 2019) or (Cichocka, 2016; Hidayat & Khalika, 2019; Ikhwan, 2019; Madjid, 2002) or (Miller & Josephs, 2009, p. 12) or Rakhmat (1989). See the end of the document for further details on references. Technical terms should be defined. Symbols, abbreviations, and acronyms should be defined the first time they are used. All tables and figures should be cited in numerical order. The research method should be included in the Introduction.

Method

The method contains an explanation of the research approach, subjects of the study, the conduct of the research procedure, the use of materials and instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques. The research method is presented briefly to inform the selection of study paradigm, research methods and techniques.

Findings and Discussions
Three main points: review of relevant concepts and theories, data presentation, research methods and data analysis. Therefore, analysis and results of the study should be described.

Graphical Abstract and Highlights
Graphical Abstract should be submitted along with a (or a group of) photo (or photos). The photo should be no larger than 16.6 cm×3.8 cm (width×height). Highlights should be a short collection of bullet points that convey the core advantages and provide readers with a quick textual overview of the article. Three to five bullet points describe the essence of the research (e.g. results or conclusions) and highlight what is distinction of study, each bullet point only consists of 125 characters including spaces. Please submit the graphical abstract and highlights as two separate files.

Graphical Figures and Tables
Please provide vector drawings for editing. The requirements on the drawings provided are listed as below: Resolution is 300 dpi at least; the format is emf, wmf, eps, ai, etc.; the width is within either single column (85 mm) or double column (166 mm), and must be no longer than 230 mm. Please submit each drawing as a separate file. Please provide the reference sources in the figure/table captions, if any.

Conclusions
The conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and research discoveries. The concluding remark should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway.

References
References should be written according to the American Psychological Association (APA) Style of the 7th edition. The number of reference items are 15 in minimum. The article should include journal articles 80% in total published less than 10 years ago. In the article only six authors are included. When the number of authors for a reference item is more than six author, the six first names should be written down and “et al.” should be added for the other authors. We recommend preparing the references with a bibliography software package, such as Mendeley and Zotero to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

If the article submitted together with foreign authors, you do not have to pay the charge.
