Perjanjian Sunda-Portugis Tahun 1522: Politik, Ekonomi, dan Interaksi Awal Islam-Eropa di Nusantara

Penelitian ini membahas perjanjian Sunda-Portugis tahun 1522 sebagai tonggak awal pertemuan politik dan ekonomi antara kerajaan lokal Nusantara dengan kekuatan Eropa. Setelah penaklukan Malaka (1511), Portugis berusaha memperluas jaringan dagang ke penghasil lada di Jawa Barat. Kerajaan Sunda melihat aliansi dengan Portugis sebagai langkah strategis menghadapi ancaman ekspansi Kesultanan Demak yang berorientasi Islam. Melalui metode sejarah dan teori Realisme Politik serta Diplomasi Ekonomi, penelitian ini menelaah perjanjian tersebut sebagai strategi kekuasaan dan ekonomi, bukan semata konflik agama. Sumber utama seperti Suma Oriental dan prasasti Padrao Sunda Kelapa dianalisis untuk memahami dinamika hubungan tersebut. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kerja sama Sunda-Portugis merepresentasikan kepentingan pertahanan Sunda dan ambisi ekonomi Portugis, sementara penyerangan Demak tahun 1527 menandai awal benturan geopolitik Islam dan Barat di Nusantara abad ke-16
