This study examines the development of Sanggar Sunda Lugina in Rancakalong Village, Sumedang Regency, from 2014 to 2024. The research is motivated by the transformation of the traditional Tarawangsa art transmission system, which was previously closed and based on lineage, into a more open and inclusive system through an art studio institution. The objectives of this study are to analyze the historical background of the establishment of Sanggar Sunda Lugina and to explore its developmental dynamics within the context of preserving local culture in the era of globalization. This research employs the historical method, which consists of four stages: heuristics (data collection), source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through document analysis, interviews with key informants and members of the art studio, as well as observation of artistic activities. The analysis is grounded in cultural structuralism theory to examine the relationship between changes in external structures and the continuity of internal cultural values. The results indicate that Sanggar Sunda Lugina has experienced significant development since 2014, marked by institutional strengthening, the establishment of Bale Ageung as a cultural center, and the implementation of an inclusive cultural education system. The studio has also demonstrated adaptability to changing circumstances through digital innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic and by expanding its cultural reach to the international level. Despite transformations in organizational aspects and performance practices, the sacred values and philosophical foundations of Tarawangsa art have been consistently preserved. Therefore, Sanggar Sunda Lugina functions not only as a cultural preservation institution but also as an adaptive and sustainable agent of social and cultural transformation.
