Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

Submissions must be accompanied by a covering letter that includes :

  • A letter of declaration that the manuscript has not been published (even in proceedings or as working paper) or offered for publication elsewhere in substantially the same or abbreviated form, either in print or electronically (e.g. the internet).
  • The names, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of the corresponding author and contributing author(s).

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the Open Journal Systems page at http://jurnal.fdk.uinsgd.ac.id/index.php/prophetica/about/submissions. Manuscripts must be submitted in English and using Microsoft Word. PDF files are not acceptable. Before submitting your manuscript, please read this guide to authors and  adjust the manuscripts with the Prophetica journal template.

Title page should include title, author(s) and affiliation(s). The title should be specific and informative. Abstract must be on a separate page. It should be a clear and concise one-paragraph summary (less than 200 words) of the paper. Highlight objectives, significant results and major conclusion without the use of reference. Keywords 5 words separated by commas) are intended for literature retrieval. To widen search, the keywords should be other than those already present in the title.

Main text: Text should have the following headings (introduction, results and discussion, closing), and implications (optional), acknowledgments (optional), references, tables, and figure legends. The figures may be submitted as separate files. The length of the manuscripts is a maximum of 6.000 words (excluding title page, abstract, figuresand tables) although shorter submissions are actively encouraged. Authors should use SI units and appropriate symbols.

Tables, figures and photographs Make sure figures are clear. The page format of the journal should be considered in designing the drawings. Keep footnotes to the minimum. Details given in the text should not be repeated in the tables and figures. Acknowledgements should be brief with essential credits, without title(s) of the person(s).


References of journals, books, multi-author books and articles published online should be cited in the text by Author & Year and conform to the following APA Citation style.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish articles in Prophetica : Scientific and Research Journal of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright of the article and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a CC-BY-SA or The Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike License.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

 

Privacy Statement

Prophetica : Scientific and Research Journal of Islamic Communication is a peer-reviewed journal, available in print and online and published twice annually. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer­­­­­ and the publisher (Faculty of Da'wah and Communicaiton, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung). This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
