Strategi Dakwah Pimpinan Daerah Muhammadiyyah dalam Menjaga Ukhuwah Islamiyah Masyarakat di Kota Medan
Abstract
This study aims to find out the preaching strategies implemented by the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah in Medan City in maintaining Islamic brotherhood in a multicultural society. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving three informants: the Head of the Muhammadiyah Muballigh Corps of Medan City, the Coordinator of the Tabligh Division of PDM Medan City, and members of the community involved in da’wah activities. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the da’wah strategies of PDM Medan City were implemented through the cadre formation of young muballigh, community tabligh services, social da’wah activities in orphanages and social institutions, collaboration with other Islamic organizations, and the utilization of digital media as a platform for moderate and peaceful Islamic preaching. These strategies contributed to strengthening Islamic brotherhood, maintaining Muslim unity, and fostering harmonious social relations amid the diversity of Medan City society. The study also identified several challenges, including differences in religious understanding, uncontrolled digital information flows, and limitations in muballigh human resources. Therefore, PDM Medan City continues to develop polite, inclusive, adaptive, and digitally literate da’wah approaches in order to preserve Muslim unity in the modern era.
