This study is a thematic (maudhu'i) hadith study on the Prophet's teachings regarding the delivery of bereavement news within the family, focusing on the report of Anas ibn Malik r.a. concerning Umm Sulaym when informing her husband, Abu Talhah, of their child's death in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, interpreted through a da'wah communication management perspective. Using a qualitative-descriptive library research method, the study reviews the hadith's sanad-matan-takhrij alongside literature on Islamic communication, interpersonal communication, and da'wah management, mapping findings onto the functions of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. The findings identify emotional self-regulation, situational arrangement, timing, analogy, gradual disclosure, and spiritual reinforcement as key elements, which correspond to the four da'wah management functions. These findings carry implications for da'wah management at the institutional level, particularly mosques and pesantren, in designing bereavement-companionship models that teach contextual, gradual, and humane management of sensitive messages rather than an absolute rule to delay or conceal information.
