Abstract

ABSTRAK

Foto jurnalistik memiliki kriteria dan ketentuan yang berbeda dengan
mengambilan foto pada umumnya. Hal ini menjadi menarik untuk mengetahui
motif mahasiswa non-jurnalistik dalam mempelajari dan pengalamannya dalam
peliputan foto jurnalistik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana
anggota Komunitas Photo’s Speak memahami, memaknai, dan pengalaman
dalam peliputan foto jurnalistik. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kulitatif
dengan metode fenomenologi serta teknik pengumpulan data melalui proses
wawancara karena dirasa cocok dalam penelitian ini dapat memberikan
gambaran mengenai suatu gejala yang terjadi di dalam masyarakat ataupun
sekelompok orang. Hasil penelitian yang telah diteliti, bahwa anggota Photo’s
Speak mahasiswa non jurnalis dapat memahami apa yang disampaikan bahwa
foto jurnalistik yang baik adalah bukan hanya foto yang dimuat di media, namun
berpengaruh juga kepada masyarakat. Kemudian menguasai teknik dan
penyuguhan foto menggunakan caption sebagai penjelas.

ABSTRACT

Photojournalism has different criteria and conditions from taking photos in general. It becomes
interesting to know the motives of non-journalistic students in studying and their experiences in
covering photojournalism. The purpose of this study is to find out how members of the Photo's
Speak Community understand, interpret, and experience photojournalism reporting. The
researcher uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods and data collection
techniques through the interview process because it is considered suitable in this study to provide
an overview of a phenomenon that occurs in society or a group of people. The results of the
research that have been researched, that members of Photo's Speak non-journalist students can
understand what is conveyed that good photojournalism is not only a photo published in the
media, but also affects the community. Then master the technique and presentation of photos
