Peer Review Process
Introduction
The peer review process in Finansha: Journal of Sharia Financial Management is designed to maintain the quality and relevance of manuscripts published, ensuring they contribute to the development of knowledge in Sharia financial management, Islamic economics, and related fields. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review following the procedure outlined below:
1. Administrative Submission Evaluation
Upon submission, the Journal Administrator conducts an initial administrative check to ensure the manuscript complies with the submission requirements listed on the journal’s author guidelines page. This includes checking:
- Compliance with manuscript format and structure
- Length of the manuscript
- Quality and clarity of English (or Bahasa Indonesia, if applicable)
- Presentation of tables, diagrams, and figures
- Referencing style adherence
- Plagiarism screening
If the manuscript fails to meet these requirements, it will be returned to the authors for revision before proceeding to further evaluation.
2. Initial Editorial Evaluation
The Chief Editor or a designated member of the editorial board evaluates all submissions to determine their suitability for Finansha. Manuscripts may be rejected at this stage if they:
- Lack originality or novelty
- Contain significant methodological or scientific weaknesses
- Do not meet language quality standards
- Fall outside the scope and aims of the journal
Manuscripts meeting the minimum standards will proceed to the peer review process, managed by the Chief Editor or assigned to an Associate Editor.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review Process
Finansha implements a double-blind peer review system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process. The names of authors and details of the manuscript are not disclosed to reviewers, and reviewers' identities remain anonymous to authors.
Peer Review Policies:
- Each submitted manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in Sharia financial management, Islamic economics, Islamic banking, accounting, or related fields.
- Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
- Novelty and originality
- Research objectivity and clarity
- Methodological rigor and appropriateness
- Contribution to theory or practice
- Scientific impact and significance
- Clarity of conclusions and recommendations
- Quality and accuracy of references
- Reviewers also check for adherence to publication ethics and potential plagiarism.
- Based on reviewers' recommendations, the editorial decision may fall into one of the following categories:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with minor revision
- Major revision required
- Rejected
The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the appointed editorial board member, considering reviewer recommendations and the overall quality and contribution of the article.
