Submission Process

  1. Author Submission

    Authors submit their manuscripts.

  2. Administrator Check (one week)

    The administrator checks the submission for the following:

    • Maximum Turnitin result: 20%

    • Appropriateness of scope (Islamic studies)

    • Journal formatting according to APA 7th edition

    After this check, the article is either:

    • Rejected or

    • Sent to Editorial Board

  3. Editorial Board Check (three to four weeks)

    The editorial board evaluates the submission based on the following criteria:

    • Articles that proceed to the review stage must meet at least 3-4 of the following elements:

      • Change

      • Controversy

      • Trends

      • Emergency

    These elements should align with the main theme of the journal, which is "Islamic Today."

    After evaluation, the article is either:

    • Rejected or

    • Sent to Reviewers

  4. Reviewer Stage (one to six months)

    The article undergoes a blind review process with at least two reviewers.

    After the review, the article is either:

    • Rejected or

    • Sent to the Editorial Board for further assessment

  5. Editorial Board Stage (one to four weeks)

    The editorial board evaluates the review results and makes the final decision on whether the article should:

    • Be accepted,

    • Be revised, or

    • Be rejected.

  6. Editorial Board and Advisory Editor Stage (one to four weeks)

    If the article requires revisions, the editorial and advisory editors will assess the revisions.

    After this stage, the article is either:

    • Rejected or

    • Sent to the Editor in Chief for final approval

  7. Editor in Chief (two to four weeks)

    The Editor in Chief makes the final decision on whether the article is accepted or rejected, based on feedback from the Editorial Board and Advisory Editors.

    After receiving the final approval, the article is either:

    • Rejected or

    • Sent to the Administrator for the Copy Editing and Proofreading Stage

  8. Copy Editing Stage (one week)

    In this stage, the author checks the article's final draft and completes all administrative requirements, such as sending the Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Copyright Agreement.

  9. Proofreading Stage (one week)

    A professional proofreader will do a final check before publication to ensure the article is free from any errors.

  10. Publish

    After completing all stages, the article is published.
