Focus and Scope

JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Socsial dan Ilmu Politik seeks to publish original research articles that deal with contemporary issues in social and political sciences including  sociology, public administration, politics public policy, citizenship, social development, governance, democracy, religion and politics, radicalism and terrorism, gender issues, education, and sociology of religion.

Peer Review Process

  1. JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the highest standards of review. Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by our editors, it will then be double blind peer-reviewed by two independent, anonymous expert referees.
  2. Editors then make a decision based on reviewers’ recommendation whether your paper is rejected, accepcted with major revision, accepted with minor revision, or accepted without revision.
  1. Review process employs a double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa.

 

Publication Frequency

JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik publishes twice a year in June and December.

 

Open Access Policy

JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publication Ethic

JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik is a peer-reviewed journal that is published by Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of posting articles in this journal, including authors, editor-in-chief, editorial board, peer-reviewers, and publisher. JISPO employs publication ethics as prescribed in  COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of authors’ works and institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore essential to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing:  authors,  journal editors, peer reviewers, publisher and society. 

The publisher takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing exceptionally seriously and recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities. The Centre is committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or additional commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. The Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and publishers where this is useful and necessary.

Publication Decisions

The editorial team of the JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Social dan Ilmu Politik is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should publish. The validation of a work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors are guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

Fair play

The editorial team at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of authors.

Confidentiality

The editorial team and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest 

Articles and materials related to articles that are not accepted for publication must be returned to their authors, and cannot be used by the editors for any reason. To avoid conflicts of interest, the decision taken in publishing articles should be fair and based on the peer-review process.

 

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions. Editorial communication with the author may also help the author improve the quality of their paper in order to be considered for publication.

Promptness

Selected referees who feel unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify editors and excuse themselves from the review process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Articles and peer-reviewed results should not be submitted directly to the author or communicated to other than the author, but it must be submitted to the editor in charge, editor-in-chief or managing editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument reported should be accompanied by appropriate citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published papers of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in submitted papers. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. Authors should follow the author guidelines outlined by JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Poitik.

Data Access and Retention

Authors are asked to provide raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data (consistent with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Databases), if practicable, and should in any event be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.

Originality and Plagiarism

The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original papers.   The works or words of others used in the papers should be appropriately cited or quoted. Authors should adhere to publication requirements that submitted work is original, is not plagiarized, and has not been published elsewhere. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. To ensure it, the authors need to check the originality of article by using plagiarism checker before submission.

Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication

An author should not, in general, publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same paper concurrently to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors, with three co-authors at maximum. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the article and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

Duties of Publisher

Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung,the publisher of JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Socsial dan Ilmu Politik, encourages the journal editors and all stakeholders involved in publication processes to follow the ethics and code of conducts of every parties. The publisher defines the relationship between publisher, editor and other parties in a contract, respects privacy, protects intellectual property and copyright, and fosters editorial independence.

The Publisher works with journal editors to set journal policies and aims to meet those policies, particularly with respect to editorial independence and research ethics, including confidentiality, consent, and  special requirements for research, authorship, transparency and integrity.

The Publisher works with journal editors to converse journal policies in general and reviews journal policies periodically, is responsible for the investigation of suspected research and publication misconduct and, where possible, facilitates in the resolution of these cases, makes and publishes corrections, clarifications, and retractions, and publishes content on a timely basis.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are NOT required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

Article Publication: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are NOT required to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs when the article is accepted for publication.

 

Screening Plagiarism

All submitted papers will go through plagiarism screening by Turnitin.

 

References Management

JISPO Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik uses the Mendeley Reference Management Software for citation and references.
