Correction and Retraction

JPIB : Jurnal Psikologi Islam dan Budaya is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical issues are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate steps to correct or retract the content in a transparent and timely manner, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Corrections (Erratum/Correction Notice)
Corrections are issued when honest errors are found that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions of the article. These may include typographical errors, mislabeling of figures, or minor data inaccuracies. A correction notice will be published, linked to the original article, and the original article will be updated accordingly.

2. Retractions
Retractions are issued when the published article contains major errors, ethical violations, or instances of misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication. The retraction notice will clearly state the reasons for the retraction and will remain linked to the original article, which will be marked as retracted but not removed from the archive.

3. Article Removal (in rare cases)
In exceptional circumstances, such as legal issues, court orders, or serious risks to public health, the journal may remove the content entirely. A notice explaining the reason for removal will be posted in place of the article.

4. Author and Institutional Notification
The corresponding author and, if necessary, their affiliated institution will be notified of the decision to issue a correction or retraction. Authors will be given an opportunity to respond during the investigation process.

5. Transparency and Indexing
All correction and retraction notices will be published openly and indexed to ensure clarity for readers and citation databases. The integrity of the academic record is a top priority.

JPIB aims to handle all correction and retraction processes responsibly and professionally to uphold trust in psychological scholarship.
