Publication Ethics
Jurnal Riset Agama is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, aligning with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. This commitment ensures the integrity of the academic record and fosters trust among authors, editors, reviewers, and readers.
Duties of Editors
-
Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published, guided by the journal's policies and legal requirements concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
-
Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
-
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
Duties of Reviewers
-
Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts.
-
Promptness: Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or know that prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
-
Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and not shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
-
Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear and supporting arguments, avoiding personal criticism of the author.
-
Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Privileged information obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Duties of Authors
-
Reporting Standards: Authors should present an accurate account of their research and an objective discussion of its significance, with sufficient detail to allow replication.
-
Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data if practicable.
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure their work is original and properly cite or quote the works or words of others.
-
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication.
-
Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
-
Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
-
Fundamental Errors in Published Works: If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
By adhering to these ethical guidelines, Jurnal Riset Agama ensures the integrity and quality of its publications, reflecting the journal's commitment to ethical publishing practices.
