Vol. 6 No. 1 (2023): Temali: Jurnal Pembangunan Sosial

All articles in this issue (9 original research articles) were authored or co-authored by 26 scholars from 14 institutions across 2 countries—Indonesia and Malaysia—representing a diverse range of academic disciplines and perspectives. This issue examines various topics, including the role of socializing in relieving fatigue at Sidoarjo City Park, survival strategies of Madurese ethnic street vendors in Surabaya during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of land subsidence on socioeconomic activities in North Semarang City. Additionally, it explores the dilemma of establishing a land bank institution, balancing social equality and economic growth, as well as the responses of Palangka Raya residents to the Governor's Circular on the COVID-19 pandemic. The issue also delves into religion and ecology, specifically environmental ethics in maintaining food and energy security, and the sociology of religious extremism in the Malay world. Furthermore, it covers efforts by campuses and students in Indonesia and Malaysia to combat radicalism, as well as a critical analysis of resistance to modernization through the novel Burung Kayu by Niduparas Erlang. These studies reflect the journal’s commitment to promoting critical, contextual, and interdisciplinary research in social development.
