This issue features seven original research articles by twenty-three scholars from six countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Israel, and Malaysia. The articles examine the intersections of religion with ethnic identity, national commitment, political radicalism, democratic governance, law, cultural memory, and social tolerance. Topics include the Danu Son See Yar Day Festival in Myanmar, religious moderation in Sukorejo Pesantren, political and religious radicalism in Nigeria, religion and national identity in Israel, blasphemy law reform in Indonesia, the Azan Pitu tradition in Cirebon, and the Kudus Minaret as a symbol of theological acculturation and tolerance. Collectively, the issue highlights the continuing role of religion in shaping identity, governance, law, memory, and social relations in contemporary societies.
