The collaboration with ASAI forms part of the journal’s scholarly publishing arrangements. Editorial decisions remain subject to the journal’s independent assessment procedures and publication ethics policies.
Institutional responsibility for the journal is distinct from copyright in individual articles. Article ownership and reuse are governed by the journal’s Copyright and Licensing policies.
2. Editorial Management
Editorial management is led by the Editor-in-Chief, supported by handling editors and editorial board members. Their names and institutional affiliations are provided on the Editorial Team page.
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief oversees the journal’s scholarly direction, editorial standards, and implementation of publication policies. Responsibilities include supervising editorial decisions and ensuring appropriate handling of ethical concerns, corrections, and appeals.
Handling editors
Handling editors assess submissions within their expertise, select qualified independent reviewers, coordinate peer review and revisions, and make recommendations or decisions within their delegated responsibilities.
Editorial board
Editorial board members contribute subject expertise and advice on scholarly standards and journal development. They may undertake manuscript assessment or other editorial duties when assigned and free from relevant conflicts of interest.
External reviewers provide independent scholarly assessments. Reviewer recommendations inform editorial decisions but do not replace the responsibility of the authorised editor.
3. Administrative and Technical Management
The editorial office coordinates journal administration and communication with authors, reviewers, and readers. Administrative and production responsibilities include:
- Maintaining submission and editorial correspondence records.
- Coordinating copyediting, layout, author proofs, and publication scheduling.
- Maintaining accurate article metadata and journal information.
- Coordinating website maintenance with the responsible technical personnel.
- Monitoring preservation deposits through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).
- Supporting the implementation and documentation of journal policies.
Access to confidential manuscripts, reviewer information, and editorial records is limited according to assigned responsibilities. Administrative or technical access does not confer authority to make scholarly decisions.
4. Editorial Independence
Manuscript decisions are based on relevance to the journal’s scope, scholarly quality, originality, supporting evidence, and compliance with publication ethics requirements.
Institutional affiliation, association membership, financial contributions, publication fees, or personal relationships must not determine acceptance or rejection. The publisher and collaborating organisations must respect the independence of individual editorial decisions.
Editors must disclose relevant competing interests and recuse themselves when impartiality could be compromised. Submissions by editors or editorial board members must be handled independently under the journal’s Conflict of Interest and Peer Review Process policies.
Publication of an article does not imply institutional endorsement of all views expressed by its authors. Authors remain responsible for their arguments, evidence, and conclusions.
5. Accountability and Contact
Questions concerning journal management, publishing arrangements, or editorial procedures may be directed to the editorial office through the Contact page.
Concerns about an editor will be referred to an independent editor or other appropriate handler. Matters involving the Editor-in-Chief will be referred to the publishing unit for independent consideration.
Changes to institutional responsibility, publishing arrangements, or editorial leadership will be reflected in the relevant journal information pages. Editorial appointments and transitions must preserve the confidentiality of records and continuity of manuscript processing.
