Abstract

Maladjustment behavior commonly found among high school students has become a serious concern in educational settings. This community service program aimed to develop and implement a self-efficacy training program as a strategy to address maladjustment behavior among high school students in Jambi City. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, this program involved 14 public high schools in Jambi City, focusing on developing a comprehensive self-efficacy training module. The program was conducted in two main phases: problem exploration through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and module development. The results demonstrated success in producing three main outputs: (1) a self-efficacy training module that has received intellectual property rights, (2) enhanced capacity of guidance counseling teachers in implementing the self-efficacy training program, and (3) establishment of strong collaborative networks between the university and partner schools. This program contributes significantly to the development of school-based intervention strategies to address student maladjustment behavior, while strengthening the role of higher education in developing educational quality at the local level.
