Membangun Self Awareness dan Self Confidence dalam Belajar Matematika

Pandangan sesorang terhadap matematika memerankan peran penting tentang kebermaknaan matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Matematika berguna manakala dipahami dan dipelajari secara utuh, namun bisa dipandang matematika tidak berguna, manakala matematika sebatas hapalan rumus yang sulit dimengerti. Pandangan tentang kesadaran matematik disajikan dalm Critical Mathematics Consciousness sebagai kerangka pendidikan yang sangat terkait dengan isu-isu sosial dan dinamika kekuasaan. Metode penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian library research mengkaji dari berbagai sumber buku, artikel jurnal dan website. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran akan peran matematika harus dikenalkan dan dibangun oleh siswa atau mahasiswa karena akan membekali diri tentang peran sosial matematika untuk memecahkan masalah baik untuk dirinya sendiri atau untuk orang lain. Keyakinan diri siswa dapat mengurangi kecemasan, dan meningkatkan motivasi serta keterlibatan dalam belajar. Untuk itu, penting bagi pendidik untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung pengembangan kesadaran dan keyakinan diri siswa dalam belajar matematika.
