Abstract

This study aimed to enhance Quran reading skills among second-grade students at SDN Sukamenak 02. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the research utilized pre-test, intervention, and post-test phases. The intervention involved a structured program focusing on phonics, sight words, and reading fluency techniques tailored to Quranic texts. Results indicated a significant improvement in reading skills post-intervention compared to pre-test scores, with a notable increase in accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. Moreover, students showed heightened engagement and enthusiasm towards Quranic reading activities. The findings suggest the effectiveness of targeted instructional strategies in enhancing Quran reading proficiency among young learners. This study underscores the importance of incorporating tailored approaches in religious education to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of sacred texts among primary school students.
