Kreativitas Mengajar Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam melalui Pendekatan Kepemimpinan Transformasional
Abstract
Abstract: The creativity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers plays a crucial role in improving the quality of learning, especially amid the rapid changes and growing demands of 21st-century education. However, various studies reveal that this creativity still faces significant challenges, such as the continued reliance on traditional teaching methods, limited use of digital technology, and insufficient organizational support for fostering innovation. This study aims to explore strategies to enhance the teaching creativity of PAI teachers through the application of transformational leadership and teacher empowerment approaches. This research employs a qualitative method using a library research design. Data were gathered from national and international journal articles, scholarly books, educational reports, and academic documents published between 2016 and 2026. These sources were collected through academic databases and analyzed using thematic analysis, which involved the stages of identification, selection, extraction, categorization, and synthesis. The findings indicate that transformational leadership strengthens the teaching creativity of PAI teachers by providing a shared vision, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized support. Meanwhile, teacher empowerment through professional autonomy, involvement in decision-making, opportunities for collaboration, and continuous professional development—proves effective in enhancing teachers’ capacity to innovate. The study also finds that the characteristics of PAI teachers’ creativity in the 21st century include the ability to integrate digital technology, implement project-based learning, promote collaborative learning, apply contextual learning, and reinforce students’ religious character. The novelty of this research lies in the development of an integrative model that connects transformational leadership and teacher empowerment as complementary strategies to foster teaching creativity. This integration helps establish a sustainable culture of innovation and supports the implementation of PAI learning that is adaptive, meaningful, and oriented toward holistic character development.
