Data Sharing Policy

KUBIK: Jurnal Publikasi Ilmiah Matematika is committed to promoting research transparency, reproducibility, and scientific integrity through responsible research data sharing. The journal encourages authors to make the data and supporting materials underlying their published findings available to facilitate the verification, validation, and further development of research in pure and applied mathematics.

1. Data Sharing Principles

KUBIK encourages authors to share research data and supporting materials upon reasonable request, provided that such sharing complies with applicable ethical, legal, privacy, and confidentiality requirements.

Authors are responsible for evaluating the reasonableness of data requests and determining whether the requested materials can be shared appropriately.

Research materials may include, where applicable:

  • Datasets used in statistical analyses or mathematical modeling.

  • Computational codes, algorithms, and simulation results.

  • Mathematical models and supporting numerical calculations.

  • Supplementary materials necessary to verify or reproduce research findings.

For theoretical mathematical research that does not involve empirical datasets, authors are not required to provide research data that do not exist.

2. Data Availability Statement

Authors are required to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscripts, clearly indicating whether the data or supporting materials associated with the research are publicly available, available upon reasonable request, subject to access restrictions, or not applicable.

Where datasets are publicly accessible, authors should provide appropriate repository links, Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), or other persistent identifiers.

3. Data Repository and Accessibility

Authors are encouraged to deposit research datasets and supporting materials in recognized institutional, disciplinary, or general-purpose repositories that support long-term accessibility and appropriate citation.

When a manuscript is associated with one or more deposited datasets, authors should provide the relevant DOI, persistent identifier, or repository link during submission.

Where access to deposited data is restricted during peer review, authors may be requested to provide appropriate reviewer access links, subject to repository policies and applicable confidentiality requirements.

4. Ethical and Legal Considerations

Research data must only be shared when ethically and legally appropriate.

Authors must ensure that data sharing does not violate:

  • Research participant privacy and confidentiality.

  • Personal data protection requirements.

  • Institutional or contractual restrictions.

  • Intellectual property rights.

  • Applicable legal, ethical, or security obligations.

When data cannot be shared publicly, authors should explain the relevant restrictions in their Data Availability Statement.

5. Data Citation and Attribution

Authors must appropriately acknowledge and cite datasets obtained from external sources.

Dataset citations should include relevant information such as the data creator, dataset title, repository, publication year, and DOI or persistent identifier, where available.

Data reuse must comply with the applicable licensing and attribution requirements.

6. Responsibility for Research Data

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, quality, and reliability of the datasets and supporting materials associated with their manuscripts.

Datasets deposited in external repositories are not automatically subject to independent peer review by KUBIK as part of the manuscript evaluation process.

The availability of research data does not relieve authors of their responsibility to ensure that their research findings are accurate, reproducible, and scientifically valid.

7. Commitment to Research Transparency

KUBIK supports responsible data sharing as an essential component of research transparency, reproducibility, and academic integrity.

The journal encourages authors to adopt appropriate research data management practices while respecting ethical, legal, and confidentiality requirements.
