Ensuring a Blind Review

Guidelines for concealing author identities to maintain a double-blind peer review process

To ensure the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process for submissions to Prestise: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Bidang Ekonomi dan Bisnis, every effort must be made to prevent the identity of the authors from being known to the reviewers. This involves taking simultaneous precautions with the text and the file properties:

  1. Remove Author Names from the Manuscript Text: The authors of the document should delete their names and institutional affiliations from the text, replacing them with "Author" and "Anonymous" in the references and footnotes where the author's previous work is cited.
  2. Remove Identifying Information from File Properties: In Microsoft Word or similar document processors, author identification should also be removed from the file properties (see under File > Inspect Document or equivalent settings). For example, by clicking File > Inspect Document > Inspect for All (or checking document properties) to clear personal information.
  3. Separate Title Page and Metadata: When uploading your manuscript files to the OJS system, ensure that author names and metadata are entered correctly into the submission form steps separately, while the uploaded manuscript file itself remains completely anonymous.
