Journal History

Psympathic: Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi was first published in 2008 under the title Psympathic: Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi Pendidikan dan Perkembangan. At that time, the journal had not yet obtained an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). In 2012, it was officially registered with a print ISSN (1979-4789), maintaining its focus on publishing research articles in the fields of educational and developmental psychology.

In 2014, the journal underwent a rebranding and changed its name to Psympathic: Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi, accompanied by the issuance of a new print ISSN (2356-3591). This change marked an expansion of the journal’s focus and scope to cover broader areas within psychology, particularly educational psychology and social psychology. In 2016, the journal also obtained an online ISSN (2502-2903), strengthening its commitment to digital accessibility and wider academic dissemination.

Initially, Psympathic accepted and published articles in both Indonesian and English. However, starting in 2022, the journal adopted a full English publication policy to enhance its international visibility and scholarly impact. Concurrently, it also refined its scope to focus exclusively on the fields of educational psychology and social psychology.
