Allegations of Misconduct

Psympathic: Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Allegations of research or publication misconduct are taken seriously and will be investigated thoroughly in accordance with the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Definition of Misconduct
Misconduct includes, but is not limited to: plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, authorship manipulation, unethical research practices, duplicate publication, undeclared conflicts of interest, and manipulation of the peer-review process.

2. Reporting Allegations
Any person (reader, author, reviewer, or editor) may report suspected misconduct by contacting the journal’s editorial team. Reports must include sufficient information and evidence to initiate an investigation.

3. Investigation Process
All allegations will be reviewed confidentially by the editorial board. The accused author(s) will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegation. Depending on the severity of the case, the journal may consult with the author's affiliated institution or other relevant bodies.

4. Actions and Outcomes
If misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Rejection of the manuscript (if unpublished)

  • Retraction or correction of the published article

  • Notification to the author’s institution or funding body

  • Temporary or permanent ban on future submissions

  • Public statement of concern or editorial note

5. Appeals
Authors have the right to appeal any decision made in relation to misconduct. Appeals must be submitted in writing with clear arguments and supporting documentation. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
