Declaration of generative AI in Scientific Writing

Authors are required to disclose any use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the preparation of their manuscripts at the time of submission. The following guidelines apply exclusively to the writing stage and do not pertain to the use of AI tools for data analysis or the generation of research findings:

• Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be utilized solely to enhance the clarity, readability, and linguistic quality of the manuscript.
• The use of such technologies must remain under human supervision and control. Authors are expected to critically review and revise all AI-generated content, as these systems may produce outputs that appear authoritative but could be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Full responsibility and accountability for the content remain with the authors.
• AI tools and AI-assisted technologies must not be credited as authors or co-authors, as authorship entails responsibilities that can only be fulfilled by human contributors.

Any use of generative AI in the writing process must be formally declared upon initial submission by including a dedicated statement at the end of the manuscript. This declaration will be published as part of the final article and should be presented in a separate section preceding the reference list. The format is as follows:

Section title: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process

Statement: “During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for [PURPOSE]. Following its use, the author(s) carefully reviewed and edited the content and assume full responsibility for the final published version.”

This requirement does not extend to the use of standard tools for grammar checking, spelling correction, or reference management. If no such technologies were employed, no declaration is necessary. Authors are encouraged to consult the Tadris Al-‘Arabiyyah Journal policy on generative AI, available under the GenAI Policies section of the journal website.

Please note that, in order to safeguard authors’ rights and ensure the confidentiality of submitted work, this journal currently prohibits the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies such as ChatGPT or comparable services by reviewers and editors during the peer review and manuscript evaluation process. This policy is outlined in the journal’s GenAI Policies and remains under continuous review, with potential updates to be implemented as appropriate AI tools become available.
