Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy
Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies
TEMALI: Jurnal Pembangunan Sosial recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies may support academic writing and research activities. However, these technologies must be used responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with established principles of academic integrity and publication ethics.
Authors may use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies only as supporting tools in the preparation of scholarly manuscripts. Such technologies must not replace the authors’ independent scholarly judgment, intellectual contribution, critical analysis, interpretation of research findings, or responsibility for the arguments and conclusions presented in their manuscripts.
All data, information, references, quotations, analytical claims, interpretations, and conclusions included in a manuscript must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors for accuracy, relevance, validity, and scholarly integrity. Authors remain fully responsible for the entire content of submitted and published manuscripts, including materials generated or modified with the assistance of AI technologies.
Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, accountability, or ethical implications of scholarly work.
Authors who use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies during manuscript preparation or as part of the research process must transparently disclose such use. The declaration must identify the name of the AI tool, the purpose for which it was used, and the extent of its involvement. When AI technologies are employed in research design, data processing, data analysis, interpretation, or other substantive research procedures, their use must also be appropriately described in the Research Method section to ensure methodological transparency and reproducibility.
Routine tools used exclusively for spelling correction, grammar checking, reference management, or basic formatting do not require disclosure unless they employ generative AI to produce, rewrite, or substantially modify scholarly content.
The Editorial Team reserves the right to request clarification regarding the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when necessary to assess the originality, transparency, methodological integrity, or academic reliability of a submitted manuscript.

If no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used to generate scholarly content, authors should include the following statement:
The author(s) declare that no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used to generate the scholarly content, analysis, interpretation, or conclusions of this manuscript.
