Author Guidelines

Al-Aulad: Journal of Islamic Primary Education is a periodical scientific research, literature review or article, report experiences of best practices in the field of elementary education, both from general and Islamic perspective. Al-Aulad is published twice a year, on March and September.

 

GENERAL GUIDELINES 

  1. Articles must be original (not plagiarism) and has never been published in another journal. If ever presented in the form of seminars, workshops, etc., mention the name of the event.
  2. Articles are written in A4 size paper, page margins: top 3 cm, left 3 cm, bottom 3 cm, and right 3 cm, typed with 1,5 density spacing, font Time New Roman 12, text format in one column.
  3. Title and Abstract are written both in Indonesian and English, the content of the article can be written in Indonesian or English.
  4. Please submit your manuscript file in a Microsoft Word extension Document (DOC) or Rich Text Format (RTF).

For the March issue, the articles can be delivered starting on October - January, editing will be done on February. For the September issue, the article can be sent in April – July, editing will be done in Agustus. The article goes into the desk editors selected by the editor. Articles can be accepted without repair, refurbishment accepted, or rejected, and the article is rejected is not returned unless requested by the author.

 

STRUCTURE OF PAPER 

The length of the manuscript of no more than 3500-5000 words or 10-12 page.

Articles are written by systematic and the following provisions.

  1. Title: written in a concise and informative, maximum 20 words (single-spaced) should reflect the substance of the variables described in the article body.
  2. Name of Author: without titles, the author can be an individual or a team.
  3. Affiliation: name of the institution
  4. The adress of affiliation
  5. E-mail Address, which is located under the author's name.
  6. Abstract (in English and Indonesian): the length of 200 words, abstracts are written in one paragraph includes: scientific review article consists of a discussion of the core issues and substantially while the results of the research article consist of goals, methods, and results. The abstract is single-spaced
  7. Keywords: terms that reflect the essence of the concept within the scope of the problem may consist of 3-5 terms.

The body of manuscript:

  1. Research Article consists of an INTRODUCTIONMETHODSRESULTS AND DISCUSSION and CONCLUSIONS.
  • Introduction consisting of background, literature review (to arrange the state of the art), purpose and problem formulation,  written in one chapter without subtitle.
  • Method consists of a description of research type, data collection, data source, data type, and data analysis. It is written in a paragraph form.
  • Result and Discussion inform a number of important data (original) field which obtained from the questionnaires, surveys, documents, interviews, observations and other data collection techniques. It can be completed with table or graphics to clarify the result. All figures and tables should be centered and numbered consecutively. Tables (refer to Table 1, Table 2,…) should be presented above the table contain in center alignment. A descriptive title should be placed after table title (refer to Table 1, Table 2,…) above each table. The source of the table should be placed on the table in the right alignment. Figures and tables should be mentioned in the related text. 
  • Conclusion:  write succinctly and clearly the result of research then describe the logical consequence in developing science and praxis of Islamic Primary Education. Conclusion is not indented and uses bolded Garamond 12.
  • Bibliography consists of reference and citations refer to the APA style sixth edition by using manager reference (Mendeley/Zotero/Endnote).
  1. Review Article consist of an INTRODUCTION (preliminary scientific study) that shows the problems and framework of analysis, sub-subtitle that contains the DISCUSSION and CONCLUSIONS.

Reference / Bibliography: use APA (American Psychological Association) citation rules, cultivated from a primary source, and if it comes from the most current cultivated journals (minimum the last ten years) and just acknowledgment of the source designated in the article body. Instead, the name that is referenced in the body must exist in the bibliography. Here are some examples of writing a bibliography of several types of sources. It is recommended to use Citation Software Ex. MENDELEYZOTERO etc. 

 

Guidelines for Contributors of Review Article

The Article or Literature Review, study the theory and related literacy focus and scope of the Primary of Islamic Education journal. Studies restricted to the fields of Primary Education both in Islamic and General perspectives. Studies performed must have the novelty of useful information for the development of science. Manuscript articles can be written in Indonesian or English is recommended. The length of the manuscript of no more than 5000 words. 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
