Aim and Scope

Asy-Syari'ah (Print ISSN 2086-9029, Online ISSN 2654-5675) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing scholarship in Theoretical Foundations and Practical Applications of Islamic Jurisprudence in Global Contexts through interdisciplinary and multicultural lenses. Its primary aim is to bridge classical Islamic legal principles (fiqh) with contemporary global challenges, including:

  • Technological innovation (e.g., ethical dimensions of islamic fintech, AI-driven legal processes)
  • Evolving frameworks in family law (e.g., reinterpretation of marriage and divorce norms, child custody in transnational contexts, inheritance reforms, integration of Islamic Family Law with national legal systems)
  • Socio-economic development (e.g., halal economy innovations, socio-economic policies inspired by maqasid al-sharia, zakat and waqf governance reforms, legal empowerment of MSMEs, and labor protection within Islamic legal frameworks)
  • Growth and enforcement of penal regulations (e.g., restorative justice practices, human rights protection within penal law frameworks, and the modernization of law enforcement mechanisms)
  • Environmental sustainability (e.g., climate adaptation, critical analyses of islamic environmental law (fiqh al-bi’ah))
  • Transformation of constitutional and civic structures (e.g., postcolonial legal hybridity, role of religious courts in resolving modern disputes)

Through practice-oriented research, Asy-Syari'ah aims to be a catalyst for integrating Islamic ethics into global sustainability, justice, and governance agendas.
