Peningkatan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis (KBKr) Melalui Pembelajaran Biologi Berbasis Keterampilan Proses Sains

Biology is a branch of science that has a broad scope and each level of education has its own curriculum demands. Biology is an exact science and all its learning objects are in nature and around us. In practice, Biology learning is closely related to observation. Practical activities carried out in learning can develop many skills, both physical skills and social skills. This includes students being able to develop and apply science process skills. The purpose of this study was to improve students' critical thinking through biology learning which includes Science Process Skills (KPS) with the literature study method from several previous studies. The benefit of this paper can help prospective teachers and teachers to maximize Biology learning that involves science process skills in the form of facilities for KPS-based Biology learning. In the results of our literature study, science process skills can develop skills in observation, classification, interpretation, communication, planning and conducting investigations, proposing hypotheses, and asking questions through practicum activities. Thus, these skills are intellectual processing skills that are very important in studying Biology and can help students become more active in learning and able to compete with the ability to think critically through optimizing the learning they get.

Abstrak. Biologi merupakan cabang ilmu yang memiliki cakupan luas dan setiap jenjang pendidikan memiliki tuntutan kurikulumnya masing-masing. Biologi merupakan ilmu yang pasti dan semua objek pembelajarannya berada di alam dan sekeliling kita. Dalam pelaksanaannya, pembelajaran Biologi sangat berkaitan erat dengan observasi. Kegiatan praktikum yang dilakukan dalam pembelajaran dapat mengembangkan banyak keterampilan, baik keterampilan fisik maupun keterampilan sosial. Termasuk di dalamnya siswa dapat mengembangkan serta menerapkan keterampilan proses sains. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan daya berpikir kritis siswa melalui pembelajaran Biologi yang mencakup Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) dengan metode studi literatur dari beberapa penelitian yang telah ada sebelumnya. Manfaat dari tulisan ini dapat membantu para calon guru dan kalangan guru untuk memaksimalkan pembelajaran Biologi yang melibatkan keterampilan proses sains dapat berupa fasilitas adanya pembelajaran Biologi berbasis KPS. Pada hasil studi literatur yang kami dapatkan, keterampilan proses sains dapat mengembangkan keterampilan observasi, klasifikasi, interpretasi, komunikasi, merencanakan dan melakukan penyelidikan, mengajukan hipotesis, dan mengajukan pertanyaan melalui kegiatan praktikum. Maka, keterampilan- keterampilan tersebut merupakan keterampilan proses intelektual yang sangat penting dalam mempelajari Biologi dan dapat membantu siswa menjadi lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran dan mampu berdaya saing dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui optimalisasi pembelajaran yang didapatkan.
