All articles in this issue (13 original research articles) were authored or co-authored by 23 scholars from 10 institutions across 2 countries—Indonesia and Malaysia—representing a diverse range of academic disciplines and perspectives. This issue explores various topics, including strengthening the social and economic potential of the Tibelat Art Studio community, the value of tolerance in Tanbih through the covert curriculum at the Suryalaya Islamic Boarding School, and the social history of the Parongpong Tablighi Jamaat from 1985 to 2023. Additionally, it examines the role of political party elites in reconciling identity political conflicts after the 2019 presidential election, the impact of women strengthening family economies in the digital era through MSMEs in Yogyakarta, and the struggle of HTI in Indonesia’s state system and its transformation in online media. Other articles focus on ecological justice for Timbulsloko through a disaster jurisprudence approach, the resolution of ethnic conflict during the anti-Chinese riots in Garut in the mid-20th century, and research trends on the influence of social media on public perceptions using a bibliometric approach. The issue also delves into the peaceful fundamentalist theology of the Jamaah Tabligh, empowering female-headed households through health communication, re-evaluating local governance in Indonesia, and analyzing reputation systems as digital socio-economic institutions in online markets. Collectively, these studies underscore the journal’s commitment to advancing critical, contextual, and interdisciplinary research in social development.
