PUBLICATION FEES & POLICY

HIJAI: Journal on Arabic Language and Literature is an open-access journal committed to maintaining high publishing standards, rigorous peer-review, and broad worldwide indexation. To support the technical and editorial operations, the journal applies the following fee structure:

Article Submission Fee

IDR 0 (Free)

Authors pay zero fee when submitting an article.

Regular Article Publishing Charge (APC)

IDR 600,000 / USD 40

Applies upon acceptance for standard publication.

Special Discount for Undergraduate Students (S1)

IDR 400,000 / USD 27

Special incentive to encourage academic writing among undergraduate (S1) students (First author must be an active undergraduate student with valid student ID proof).

Why Do We Charge an APC?

HIJAI provides immediate open access to all published articles without subscription paywalls. The APC collected is directly allocated to ensure continuous publishing quality and operational excellence, including:

  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Assignment: Registering Crossref DOIs for each published article.
  • Plagiarism Screening: Checking similarity via Turnitin system to prevent academic dishonesty.
  • Editorial & Multi-Format Layouting: Professional formatting for PDF version and conversion to responsive HTML Galley for improved web readability and indexation.
  • Archiving & Indexing Costs: Maintenance of journal infrastructure, server, OAI harvesting, and indexation platforms.
  • Peer-Review Process: Administering double-blind review processes efficiently.

* Note: APC waiver or partial discount requests are available for authors under special economic constraints, subject to editorial board evaluation upon submission.
