Author Guidelines

Likuid: Journal of Halal Industry Economics

Likuid: Journal of Halal Industry Economics is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing research in halal economics and the global halal industry. The journal publishes empirical research, conceptual papers, and systematic reviews. As a journal committed to scholarly inquiry and the development of scientific knowledge, Likuid focuses its publications on a wide range of topics within the sphere of halal economics and industry. Its scope includes, but is not limited to, studies on the halal industry, Islamic finance and banking, halal tourism, halal food, halal fashion, halal cosmetics, halal media, and halal pharmaceuticals. The journal is intended to serve as a valuable reference for academics, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and all stakeholders concerned with the development of the halal economy and industry at both national and global levels.

Language Requirements
a. Manuscripts must be written in academic English.
b. Professional language editing is recommended for non-native speakers.
c. Manuscripts written in other languages will not be processed.

International Authorship Requirement
a. Each submission must include at least one international co-author affiliated with an institution outside the primary author’s country.
b. The international author must contribute substantively to the study (declared in the Author Contribution Statement).

Manuscript Originality
a. The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
b. Similarity must be below 20%, excluding references.
c. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools.

Publication Ethics
Likuid adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) principles. Authors must comply with ethical standards including:
a. No plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
b. No data fabrication or falsification.
c. Authorship must reflect actual contributions.
d. Conflicts of interest must be declared.
e. Human or animal research must include ethical clearance.

Ethics violations may result in rejection or retraction.

Manuscript Structure
A manuscript should include the following sections:
1. Title (concise, informative, sentence case)
2. Author Information (full names, affiliations, ORCID IDs, emails)
3. Abstract (150–250 words)
4. Keywords (3–5 terms)
5. Introduction
6. Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
7. Methodology
8. Results
9. Discussion
10. Conclusion and Recommendations
11. Acknowledgments
12. Author Contribution Statement

Formatting Standards
1. File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
2. Length: 6,000–10,000 words
3. Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
4. Line spacing: 1.5
5. Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
6. Table and figure titles must be clear, numbered, and sourced.

Citation and Referencing
1. Use Mendeley or Zotero for reference management.
2. Apply APA 7th edition (or the referencing style required by the journal).
3. At least 70% of references should be from reputable, recent (last 5–10 years), peer-reviewed journals.

Submission Procedure
1. Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS).
2. All metadata fields must be completed accurately.
3. Submissions sent via email will not be processed.

Peer Review Process
Likuid uses a double-blind peer review system.
Process flow:
1. Editorial screening
2. Plagiarism check
3. Assignment to reviewers
4. Review period (6–8 weeks)
5. Revision (minor or major)
6. Final decision by the Editor-in-Chief

The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts at any stage.

Open Access Policy
Likuid adopts a fully open-access model, allowing all published articles to be freely accessed, distributed, and shared for academic and non-commercial purposes, provided proper citation is maintained.
The journal complies with BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative)

Copyright and Licensing
1. Copyright remains with the authors.
2. Authors grant the journal the right to publish and disseminate the work.
3. Articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 ShareAlike International (CC BY-SA 4.0) unless stated otherwise.

This allows others to share, reproduce, and build upon the work with proper attribution.
