Retraction and Correction Policy
Likuid: Jurnal Ekonomi Industri Halal is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and credibility of scholarly publications. When errors, ethical breaches, or other concerns affecting the reliability of a published article are identified, the journal will take appropriate action in accordance with established publication ethics principles and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Retraction Policy
An article may be retracted when evidence indicates that its findings or publication integrity have been seriously compromised. Grounds for retraction include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data Fabrication, Falsification, or Misrepresentation: The article contains fabricated, falsified, or materially misleading data, or serious errors that invalidate its findings and cannot be adequately addressed through a correction.
- Plagiarism: The article contains plagiarized material, including substantial unattributed text, ideas, data, or other content taken from existing publications.
- Duplicate Publication: The article has been published elsewhere without appropriate disclosure, authorization, or justification.
- Research Ethics Violations: The research involves serious ethical breaches, such as the unauthorized use of data, lack of required informed consent, or failure to obtain necessary ethical approval.
- Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest: The authors have failed to disclose significant competing interests that may have improperly influenced the research process, interpretation, or reporting of findings.
When a retraction is deemed necessary, the journal will implement the following measures:
- A formal retraction notice will be published, explaining the reasons for the retraction and identifying the affected article.
- The article's PDF file will be clearly marked with a retraction watermark.
- The online HTML version will be appropriately annotated or replaced with a retraction notice, as applicable.
- The retraction notice will be electronically linked to the original article whenever technically possible.
- The retraction notice will be published promptly and made freely accessible to readers.
The original article and its associated metadata will be retained where feasible to preserve the scholarly record, with its retracted status clearly indicated.
2. Article Withdrawal Policy
Article withdrawal applies primarily to manuscripts that have not yet been formally published. A manuscript may be withdrawn under the following circumstances:
- Author-Initiated Withdrawal: Authors may submit a formal request to withdraw their manuscript, providing a clear explanation for the request. Any applicable withdrawal charges must be governed by the journal's officially published policy and communicated transparently to authors before submission.
- Serious Research Errors or Misconduct: The editorial team may withdraw a manuscript if substantial errors, fabricated data, plagiarism, or other forms of research misconduct are identified before publication.
- Violations of Publication Ethics: Withdrawal may be considered in cases involving simultaneous submission to multiple journals, false authorship claims, plagiarism, or other significant breaches of editorial and publication standards.
Withdrawn manuscripts will be documented in the journal's editorial records. Where necessary, the journal may provide an appropriate notice indicating the withdrawal and its underlying reasons.
3. Correction Policy
The journal may publish a correction when an error is identified in a published article but does not warrant retraction. Corrections may be considered in the following circumstances:
- Minor Factual or Editorial Errors: Errors such as typographical mistakes, incorrect references, inaccurate author affiliations, or other inaccuracies that could mislead readers but do not invalidate the principal findings.
- Authorship Corrections: Errors involving the inclusion, omission, or identification of authors, subject to verification and agreement among the relevant parties and compliance with the journal's authorship policy.
- Data, Methodological, or Reporting Corrections: Inaccuracies in reported data, methodological descriptions, tables, figures, or other article components that require correction to ensure an accurate scholarly record, provided that the main conclusions remain sufficiently reliable.
Corrections will be published through a formal correction notice, such as an erratum or corrigendum, as appropriate. The notice will specify the affected sections and describe the changes made. Where technically feasible, the corrected article will be updated in both HTML and PDF formats, and the correction notice will be linked to the original publication. Appropriate records of the correction will be maintained to ensure transparency.
4. Post-Publication Appeals and Dispute Resolution
Authors, reviewers, readers, and other relevant parties may submit a formal appeal or raise concerns regarding decisions involving retraction, withdrawal, or correction. Appeals must include a clear explanation and supporting evidence and will be evaluated impartially by the editorial team.
The journal will review the available evidence, provide relevant parties with an appropriate opportunity to respond, and seek additional information when necessary. Investigations will be conducted fairly and confidentially, in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable COPE guidance. Editorial decisions will be based on the evidence and the principles of research integrity rather than personal, institutional, or financial interests.
5. Legal and Ethical Considerations
In circumstances involving legal concerns, including copyright infringement, defamation, or violations of privacy and confidentiality, the journal will assess the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable laws and publication ethics standards.
Where the removal of an article or its content is legally necessary, the journal may restrict or remove access to the affected material while retaining essential bibliographic metadata, such as the article title and author information, where legally permissible. A notice explaining the removal will be displayed on the article's webpage whenever appropriate and permitted by law.
6. Commitment to Publication Integrity
Likuid: Jurnal Ekonomi Industri Halal strives to address publication errors, research misconduct, and ethical concerns in a timely, transparent, and impartial manner. Through these policies, the journal seeks to protect the reliability of the scholarly record, uphold responsible research practices, and maintain the trust of authors, reviewers, readers, and the wider academic community.
