Placigarism Policy

Likuid: Jurnal Ekonomi Industri Halal conducts plagiarism screening on all submitted manuscripts using Turnitin or other appropriate similarity-detection software. The editorial team evaluates the similarity report to identify potential plagiarism, inadequate paraphrasing, improper citation, and other forms of unattributed use of existing works.

The journal adopts a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. However, similarity scores are not the sole basis for determining plagiarism; each report is assessed by the editor in consideration of the nature of the matched content, the adequacy of citations, and the context of the similarities. The similarity report may be provided to authors to support the revision process.

The journal applies the following procedures based on the similarity index:

  1. Similarity Index Above 40%: The manuscript will generally be rejected due to substantial similarity concerns, inadequate paraphrasing, or insufficient attribution. Manuscripts rejected under this category will not be eligible for resubmission in their current form.
  2. Similarity Index of 10–40%: The manuscript will be returned to the author for substantial improvement. Authors must ensure that all borrowed ideas and textual material are properly cited, paraphrase source material appropriately, and eliminate unnecessary textual similarities. The revised manuscript will be subject to further evaluation by the editorial team.
  3. Similarity Index Below 10%: The manuscript may proceed to the next stage of editorial assessment, provided that all sources are appropriately acknowledged and no evidence of plagiarism is identified. Additional citation or paraphrasing improvements may still be required.

For manuscripts requiring revision, authors must carefully address all identified similarities, provide appropriate citations and references, and ensure that the revised manuscript complies with the journal's publication ethics standards. A new similarity report may be requested as evidence of revision. Following revision, the manuscript must achieve a similarity index of less than 25% and demonstrate proper attribution of all source materials before it can proceed further in the editorial process.

The final decision regarding potential plagiarism rests with the editorial team after reviewing the similarity report and the relevant content. Compliance with the similarity threshold does not automatically guarantee acceptance, as all manuscripts must also satisfy the journal's academic, editorial, and ethical requirements.
