AI Usage Policy for Authors

VARIA HUKUM: Jurnal Forum Studi Hukum dan Kemasyarakatan permits responsible use of artificial intelligence tools only when such use is consistent with scholarly integrity, confidentiality, transparency, originality, and author accountability.

An AI system cannot be listed as an author because it cannot assume responsibility, provide consent, manage conflicts of interest, or be accountable for the work. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, data, analyses, images, permissions, and conclusions in the submitted manuscript.

AI-generated or AI-assisted output must be verified by the authors and must not be used to fabricate data, references, sources, images, approvals, reviewer identities, or other scholarly content.

Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted systems in a dedicated AI Disclosure section of the manuscript, placed before the References, when the tool has contributed to drafting, summarization, translation, coding, data analysis, image generation, or other content beyond routine spelling, grammar, or reference-formatting assistance. The disclosure should state the name and version of the tool, the purpose of its use, and the extent to which the output was verified or revised by the authors.

Authors must not upload confidential, identifiable, copyrighted, proprietary, embargoed, or otherwise restricted material to an external AI service unless they have lawful authority and the service's terms and data protections are compatible with their obligations.

The journal may update this policy as AI practices and publication-ethics guidance evolve.
