Authors who publish with VARIA HUKUM: Jurnal Forum Studi Hukum dan Kemasyarakatan agree to the following terms:

  1. Copyright and license. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license allows others to share and adapt the work, including for commercial purposes, with an acknowledgment of its authorship and initial publication in this journal, provided that adaptations are distributed under the same license. Further details are set out on the Licensing page.
  2. Rights granted to the journal. Authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in all formats and media, to register Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), and to deposit, index, and archive the article through indexing, preservation, and discovery services.
  3. Additional arrangements. Authors may enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (for example, posting it to an institutional repository or publishing it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
  4. Posting online. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (for example, in institutional repositories or on their own websites) prior to and during the submission process, as this can lead to productive exchanges and earlier and greater citation of published work. Posting a preprint is not considered prior publication, provided that the author discloses it in the cover letter. Authors are responsible for ensuring that posting does not compromise the anonymity of the peer review process. Repository deposit and sharing of manuscripts or versions of record are governed by the Self-Archiving and Repository Policy.
  5. Author warranties. Authors warrant that the work is original, that it does not infringe the rights of any third party, that permission has been obtained for any third-party material included in it, and that all listed authors have approved the submission and the grant of the license. The corresponding author makes these warranties on behalf of all authors.
  6. Moral rights. Authors retain the moral rights in their work in accordance with applicable copyright law, including the right to be attributed as the author.
  7. Materials not subject to copyright. Legislation, court decisions, and other primary legal materials quoted in an article are not copyrighted works under applicable law and are not covered by the license merely because they are quoted in the article.
