JIEB welcomes research from diverse geographical and institutional contexts and particularly encourages comparative, cross-country, and interdisciplinary studies that offer strong theoretical or empirical contributions and meaningful implications for policy, industry, and society.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Islamic Economics and Business (JIEB) undergo an initial editorial assessment to evaluate their relevance to the journal’s scope, scholarly quality, originality, and compliance with submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s editorial standards may be declined at this stage without external review.

Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are subjected to a double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. Independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its theoretical and empirical contribution, methodological rigor, originality, clarity of analysis, and overall scholarly quality.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team may reach one of the following decisions: acceptance, revision required, or rejection. When revisions are requested, authors are expected to address the reviewers’ comments carefully and submit a revised manuscript for further evaluation when necessary.

The final decision on publication rests with the editorial team, taking into consideration the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and its contribution to the scholarly focus of JIEB.
