Correction and Retraction Policy

JIPAI follows the COPE Retraction Guidelines to keep the scholarly record accurate.

Types of notices

  • Erratum: a correction of an error made by the journal (for example, a typesetting or metadata error) that affects the meaning or the author's reputation.
  • Corrigendum: a correction of an error made by the authors that does not invalidate the findings.
  • Expression of Concern: a notice published while a serious concern is being investigated, or when the investigation is inconclusive.
  • Retraction: removal of the article from the valid scholarly record because of serious problems.

Grounds for retraction. Clear evidence of unreliable findings caused by misconduct (fabrication, falsification) or honest error; plagiarism; redundant publication; unethical research; undisclosed major conflicts of interest or authorship manipulation; or a finding that the work infringes copyright or legal rights.

Procedure. Errors or concerns may be reported by anyone, including the authors, to jipai@uinsgd.ac.id . The editors assess the case following the Research Misconduct procedure, give the authors an opportunity to respond, and decide on the appropriate notice. Authors who find an error in their own published work are expected to notify the journal promptly.

How notices are published

  • Notices are published in the journal, linked to the original article, and cite the article's DOI.
  • A corrected article is updated with a note on the change and the date; the original PDF is replaced and the correction notice is linked.
  • A retracted article remains accessible, marked clearly as “RETRACTED” in the PDF and on the article page, with a retraction notice that states who retracted it and why.
  • Article content is removed entirely only in exceptional cases, such as legal reasons, defamation, or when the content poses a serious risk to health or safety.
  • Indexing services are informed of retractions where possible.
