Peer Reviewer Process

ISEMA: Islamic Educational Management is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication quality. To ensure the objectivity and scientific rigor of the published articles, the journal strictly employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process. This means that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the evaluation process.

All submitted manuscripts will undergo the following procedural stages:

1. Initial Screening (Desk Review) Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board will conduct a preliminary evaluation to determine if the manuscript meets the journal's basic criteria. During this stage, the editors will verify:

  • Relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope.

  • Compliance with the established Author Guidelines and manuscript template.

  • Originality and similarity index checking (using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin). Manuscripts that are clearly out of scope, poorly formatted, or exhibit high similarity levels will be immediately rejected at this stage (Desk Reject) without being sent for peer review.

2. Reviewer Assignment Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least 2 (two) independent, anonymous reviewers who have relevant expertise in the field of Islamic educational management.

3. Peer Review Evaluation The reviewers will objectively evaluate the manuscript based on several academic criteria, including:

  • Originality and novelty of the research.

  • Clarity of the research objectives and significance.

  • Soundness of the theoretical framework and methodology.

  • Quality and depth of the data analysis and discussion.

  • Consistency of the conclusions and alignment with the findings.

  • Appropriateness of the references and academic writing standards.

4. Editorial Decision Reviewers will provide recommendations to the editors. Based on the reviewers' feedback, the Editor-in-Chief (or assigned Section Editor) will make one of the following final decisions:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication in its current form without further revisions.

  • Revisions Required (Minor Revision): The manuscript requires minor structural or stylistic adjustments. The author must revise the paper within a specified timeframe.

  • Resubmit for Review (Major Revision): The manuscript requires substantial changes in methodology, data analysis, or literature. Once revised, it may be sent back to the reviewers for a second round of evaluation.

  • Decline Submission (Reject): The manuscript lacks scientific merit, contains fundamental flaws, or does not provide a significant contribution to the field.

The final authority to accept or reject a manuscript rests entirely with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the accumulated recommendations of the peer reviewers and the editorial board.
