Author Guidelines

General Requirements

al Kimiya: Jurnal Ilmu Kimia dan Terapan welcomes Original Research Articles and Short Communications written in English that make original scholarly contributions to pure or applied chemistry. Authors should ensure that the manuscript clearly fits the journal's Aims and Scope before submission.

Manuscript Preparation

  1. Title and abstract: Use an accurate, informative title. The abstract should succinctly summarize objectives, methods, principal results, and the significance of the findings. Choose relevant chemistry keywords.
  2. Author information: Provide complete author names, affiliations, email addresses, and accurate corresponding-author details through OJS. ORCID identifiers are recommended.
  3. Research structure: Organize the manuscript according to the journal's current downloadable template. Research articles should normally include Introduction, Methods or Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments (if applicable), Funding, Conflicts of Interest, Data Availability, Author Contributions, and References, with ethics and AI-use declarations where relevant.
  4. Chemical and scientific reporting: Specify materials, concentrations, units, instrument models, analytical procedures, standard methods, statistical approaches, and enough experimental detail to assess replicability. Use internationally recognized chemical nomenclature and consistent SI units.
  5. Figures and tables: Provide legible, original figures with informative captions. Report adequate experimental detail for spectra, chromatograms, diffraction patterns, micrographs, and comparative measurements. State uncertainties or error estimates when appropriate.
  6. References: Cite relevant primary scientific literature accurately and use the citation and bibliography style defined in the current journal template. Authors may use Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or equivalent software; the journal does not require a particular commercial tool.
  7. Originality: Submissions must be original, must not be under review elsewhere, and must transparently disclose relevant preprints or overlapping publications. All cited and reused content must comply with ethical and copyright requirements.
  8. Statements and approvals: Submit authorship information, contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, ethics approvals, and meaningful AI-use disclosures as applicable.
  9. Blinded review: Remove direct identifiers from the review manuscript and provide author information in the OJS metadata or a separate title page, in accordance with the journal's double-blind review process.

Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's OJS Submissions page. Register or log in, complete all required metadata, upload the manuscript and supplementary files, and confirm the submission checklist. The corresponding author will receive editorial communication through the journal system.

Manuscript Template

A template link has previously been advertised here: Manuscript Template. [EDITOR CHECK REQUIRED: verify that this points to a blank, read-only master template or controlled copy rather than another author's completed manuscript.]

Authors are responsible for responding constructively to editorial and reviewer comments. The journal's detailed policies on peer review, copyright, ethics, and APCs apply to all submissions.
