Research articles published under the journal's current open-access policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The authors retain copyright, and the journal receives a non-exclusive right of first publication.

Permissions

CC BY 4.0 allows readers to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, and build upon the article in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, subject to the license conditions.

Conditions of Reuse

  • Attribution: Credit the author(s), cite the source and DOI where available, and link to the CC BY 4.0 license.
  • Changes: State whether modifications were made.
  • No endorsement: Do not imply that the authors or publisher endorse a reuse.
  • No additional restrictions: Do not impose restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

The license does not automatically cover trademarks, institutional logos, third-party copyrighted content explicitly excluded from the license, or rights not controlled by the authors. Where a published article carries a different valid historical license, the license indicated on that article governs its reuse.
