Digital Preservation
Preservation Commitment
al Kimiya: Jurnal Ilmu Kimia dan Terapan recognizes the importance of long-term access to scholarly publications, including the preservation of article files, metadata, and editorial records. Its digital preservation arrangements should support continued access even when operational systems change.
Preservation Measures
The journal's preservation plan includes:
- Maintaining complete and current copies of published PDF files, article metadata, issue information, editorial records, and associated supplementary files under institutional management.
- Performing scheduled, secured backups of the OJS database and uploaded files, with access controls and periodic recovery testing.
- Keeping article metadata and permanent identifiers accurate and transferring files and records safely during platform upgrades or migrations.
- Evaluating participation in suitable long-term preservation services, such as PKP Preservation Network, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or other verified institutional or third-party arrangements, where technically and contractually available.
- Maintaining a clear procedure for data recovery and continuity when a server fails or the journal platform becomes unavailable.
Public Disclosure
A preservation service must only be listed as an active preservation partner once it has been implemented and verified. The journal should publish the actual repository/archiving provider, coverage, and retention arrangements when confirmed. Until then, this page states the journal's preservation plan rather than asserting enrollment in any external preservation network.
