Vol. 5 No. 1 (2022): Hijai - Journal on Arabic Language and Literature

Hijai: Journal on Arabic Language and Literature Vol. 5 No. 1 (2022) features a peer-reviewed collection of research papers demonstrating broad institutional, national, and international geographic diversity among its contributors. This issue brings together scholarly works from various regions across Indonesia—including West Java (UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung & IAIN Cirebon), East Java (Universitas Nurul Jadid Probolinggo & IAIN Ponorogo), Lampung (IAIN Metro), East Kalimantan (IAIN Samarinda), and North Sumatra (IAIN Padangsidimpuan)—as well as an international contribution from Nigeria (Kwara State University).

This geographic distribution brings rich multidisciplinary perspectives to Arabic linguistic, literary, and educational studies, encompassing:

  • Rhetoric & Classical Literature: Analysis of Qashr in the Uqudulujain text by Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani, jinas stylistic figures in Mahfudzat, and textual editing (philology) of Al-Futuhatu Al-Mantiqiyyah manuscript.
  • Arabic Linguistics & Scholarly Thought: Exploration of the linguistic virtues of the Arabic language based on Ibn Kathir's perspectives.
  • Comparative Linguistics & Loanwords: Morphological change analysis of Arabic loanwords in the Batonu (Batonum) language of Nigeria.
  • Arabic Language Pedagogy: Implementation of active learning strategies and guided composition (Insya' Muwajjah) in Arabic language education.
